Magical Moab!

A couple weeks ago I went on a trip to Moab with my LDS singles ward and got some lovely shots :) It was really neat, because most of the time we were there it rained non stop. But when we started hiking, the rain would stop and we were able to see our destination clearly!
It was pretty easy to get good shots in Moab because everything was just so beautiful! But I'm going to share some tips along with these pictures.
Well, enjoy! :)

Isn't this cool? It looks like a train track straight out of a Western film!
For this shot, I got down on my stomache to get the angle just right.
A pretty waterfall we passed by on one of our hikes. I was trying to make the water look soft and milky and it didn't turn out too bad. I used tv mode and used a shutter speed of 1/15.

Landscape Arch. My advice for taking good landscapes is to master manual mode on your camera! There's just 2 basic things you need to remember when using this mode: In dim light, use a low f stop number and a high ISO; in bright light, use a high f stop number and a low ISO. Not much to it! Just adjust these numbers until your picture turns out satisfactory :) I'd also recommending going to your exposure comp. (It's in the middle part of the screen) and move the dial to the right to create some contrast. This will make the color a lot richer. If you master this mode, you can take some stunning shots that will only need minimal (if any) editing!
Another cool desert plant.

For good macro photos, AV mode is your friend! :D You simply use a small f stop number like 5.6, turn off your flash, and adjust the ISO as necessary.

Well I hope you've enjoyed my shots from Moab!
